Coffee Talk

Most of you know I am a "Coffee Connoisseur" I can't help it, its in my DNA. Being Italian its what we all love and can't live without.  I only know a couple of family members who don't like it. ( I won't mention you names:)
So what do yo like? Starbucks, Micky D's, Dunkin Donuts or do you make it at home?  Well here is my run down on what I like.
*Starbucks is the BEST for a "special drink" latte, expresso, Frap, mocha ect. I think is way over priced, but have to have at least once a week. Ok maybe a couple times a week.
*Mc Donalds (aka Micky D's) I love for a cup of joe. Its cheap and I don't have to get out of the car!!! FYI I LOVE their large ice tea also HELLO $1 Yes I go there 4 to 5 days a week for tea. Oh and I buy my ice there too. 2 bags for $1.53!!!
*Dunkin Donuts has a great coffee too. Its a little out of my way but if I have the boys with me they LOVE to get a milk and a box of munchkins. Yes I feed my kids donuts every once in a while.
* Coffee at home is good but its nice to out for coffee? I have a old fashion Italian expresso maker, regular expresso maker, coffee maker, french press coffee maker. YES I have all these!!!  All were gifts. My run down on coffee at home is. LOVE it on "cool" mornings. Az really doesnt have cold mornings. LOL I can sit and drink a pot!!! Well now in summer Ive been making a pot at night and and in the morning its cold so I can have a ice coffee. THATS RIGHT I ONLY DRINK ICE COFFEE IN SUMMER. I LOVE the new fat free half and half. Through a splash of that in it with a Splenda or Stevia packet and OMG YUM-O!!! I only use my Italian old fashion expresso maker when I have company over.
Thats my coffee talk for today. Let me know how you like you coffee or where is you fave spot.

  1. LOL!!! My Italian sister from another mother!!! It is FREAKY how much we have in common!!! Pretty much agree on all the places to get coffee out of the house. Can't do Micky D's anymore for the flavored stuff...its so sweet...but great for the black stuff or when I can't get out of the car ;-)

I do the exact same thing for iced coffee at home! Make a pot at night & enjoy iced coffe bright and early at home. So glad to hear someone else admit they could drink an entire pot as well!!! LOL! Then a glass of red wine at night to bring it all down ;-) That's how us Italians roll!!

    Love ya!!

  2. I make iced coffee in the summer. Here's my recipe. I follow a cold brew method when making iced coffee. I use the french press, but you could also use a glass jar and sieve. It's delicious.

    ICED COFFEE

    1) The night before, start with 1/4 cup of coarse ground coffee, and add 1 cup of cold water. Leave on counter for 6-12 hours. I leave it overnight.

    2) The next morning add 1 more cup of water.

    3) Strain (I strain it twice using a small strainer with a filter inside)

    4) pour into a chilled glass over ice (makes two glasses).

    5) add milk, creamer, sugar etc.

    It makes 2 glasses.

Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays for next time.

    ENJOY :)

  3. Hi Anna..I really love the smell of italian coffee, but being born in Italy and raised with a family that only made italian coffee...to this day, I have yet to drink a shot of espresso. LOL I do love the Caramel Macchiato hot coffee topped with whipped cream from Starbucks. I treat myself every once in awhile. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I do like my one cup in the morning. After that, I get too jittery. I love your blog....keep up the good work!!!!
